Blue Friday Publishing Deal
Combining dark humour with a vision of the future that is almost an inverse of the classic dystopian nightmare of 1984, Mike’s latest novel follows in the tradition of great Speculative Fiction satirists such as Jonathan Swift.

Fiction as Art?
Why then do we struggle when a novel works in the same way, when the writer uses words to paint images directly into a reader’s head to tell a story

Got a box of 50 of my books this week - very exciting ...
Other news: I will be doing a signing at waterstones in Milton Keynes after the summer and I'm chatting with WH Smiths in Luton about stocking my novel. I also dropped into a delightful new book shop called Roden's Books in Barton-le-Clay in Bedfordshire this morning who are having a grand opening this weekend with West End actress, Mandy Holliday, appearimg as Elizabeth Barrow Dickens ( in Victorian costume ). Throughout the day she will wander the shopping village, culminating in two performances of readings from Edward Lear, Lewis Carroll and Charles Dickens. See their site here. Watch out for my novel on their shelves soon and my face at Rodens later in the year when I'll do a reading or stand on my head - or well whatever pulls the punters in! Perhaps I'll do a reading whilst standing on my head!
My publisher also sent a batch of books off to reviewers who've said their review it. Gulp. I might hide behind the sofa.

I'm assuming that the tour bus is knackered from overuse Mike!!
ReplyDeleteI'm shall look forward to getting my copy soon -no news from Amazon yet but it's obviously in the pipeline. That's a big load of books you ordered there - I take it the usual chocolate gifts are off the Christmas list!
My bus isn't knackered Jane - it's a thing of beauty.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the show is well and truly on the road, Mike, bus or no bus. Who needs wheels, an engine, a driver...? Sometimes determination, persistence, hard yakka... will do it.
ReplyDeleteSuperb Mike, and I mean the book! It looks the part and now it's out there! If there's anything I can do to help give me a shout. I'll be back on the blogging scene soon:)
ReplyDeleteThat novel of mine you mentioned, the first draft is done. 100k of words about a randy priest, what on earth was I thinking!!
Back on the blogging scene eh Gary!? Great news :-)
