Blue Friday Publishing Deal
Combining dark humour with a vision of the future that is almost an inverse of the classic dystopian nightmare of 1984, Mike’s latest novel follows in the tradition of great Speculative Fiction satirists such as Jonathan Swift.

Fiction as Art?
Why then do we struggle when a novel works in the same way, when the writer uses words to paint images directly into a reader’s head to tell a story

Musings on Signings
Had a great day on Saturday at waterstones in Milton Keynes where they have my book for sale about 12 inches below Booker fame! O to be on the shelf above!
Interesting moments of the day:
Being given advice by a customer as to how to market my book to people - "I want you to go home and write two pitches one for woman and one for men. For the woman talk about emotions how they can FEEL their way through the story and then for men concentrate on the visual aspects" - or words to that effect. I'll make no comment as to what images and emotions were going through my mind as he was talking to me.
And signed a copy to a woman who described waterstones' big table of celeb and cook books at the front of the store as The Waterstones Wan@er's table!
Also met the lovely Jesscia Patient who's on team at The View From Here and some good mates - one of which ( yes you Kim Maskell ) sweet talked a customer into getting a signed book - she's now employed by me as my sales and marketing Director.
